Faith/Learning Statement

Macey Berger--Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for El, MS, and HS

Being part of the team at NPC means I share in the responsibility for “equipping students to impact the world for Jesus Christ.” Having graduated from NorthPointe myself, I have the joy of working alongside many staff members who helped strengthen my relationship with Christ when I was a student. Now I have the privilege of helping current students chase after Jesus, and I could not be more excited!

As a behavior analyst, some of the tools I use frequently with students are visual aids. I use them to interact with students and to help them build independence in various skill areas. I use visual aids often because I believe it is so much easier to learn something if we can see it! When it comes to the Love, Mission, and Image Mandates, there is no better learning tool than seeing someone actively live those out, and that is what I try to do.

The Love Mandate (Matthew 22:37-40) means meeting students where they are, getting to know and understand them, and coming alongside them to help them progress toward their academic, social, and spiritual goals. Loving others means being there for students in the mountains and the valleys of life, and teaching students to see God’s goodness in both.

The Mission Mandate (Matthew 28: 19-20) is God calling us to spread the gospel and obey his commands. Working at a Christian school is such a blessing because it allows me to let faith be an active player in decision-making.  By bringing God into conversations, incorporating faith into decisions, and helping to build a community of support for the Northpointe family, I hope that others would see Jesus in me.

The Image Mandate (Genesis 1:26, 28) states that we are all created in God’s image, meaning that every human life is precious and valued. It is so humbling to know that the same God who made the universe created us, not only in His image, but also with the responsibility to fill the earth and subdue it. My goal is to help students know that God uniquely created each of them and has a unique purpose for their lives.
