What is special about 6th Grade?
6th Grade at NorthPointe is a bridge-building year between elementary and middle school. Our goal is to help students grow spiritually, socially, and academically in a comfortable, loving environment. Students are officially part of our middle school student body while also experiencing the benefits of a primary classroom teacher. Our classroom teachers lovingly guide 6th grade students through the academic rigor of middle school and the emotional and social challenges that arise with adolescence. Students still take advantage of specialized teachers for their electives.
Our 6th grade curriculum includes several distinct features such as the multi-disciplinary hunger awareness event called Empty Bowls (click to read Mlive's coverage of this event), participation in the Middle School Marketplace, a yearly class trip, and a 6th grade play with full class participation.
“Everyone welcomes you like family and the boys and girls are very good at showing you the ropes. Also, the staff is very nice and you can tell they all want the best for you. ” - NPC Middle School Student
