Finding Peace in the Pages:
Why NorthPointe Switched
to I:55 Book Fairs

As a Christian parent, I want every part of my kids’ education to reflect the values my husband and I share—the music that gets stuck in their heads, the shows they can’t stop talking about, and of course, the books they dive into!

As parents navigating an increasingly worldly culture and striving to teach our children to think counter-culturally, I find myself asking, “Do the books my kids read align with our faith? Are they reinforcing the values we teach at home?”

Unlike the typical secular book fairs, I wanted an experience where my kindergartener could freely pick out books, and I wouldn’t have to second-guess if they aligned with our family’s values. I wanted stories that were not only engaging for my second grader but were also rooted in truth and goodness.

The apostle Paul in Philippians 4:8-9 says it frankly: “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise—think about these things.”

It makes me pause and ask: Are the shows my kids watch honorable? Is the music they listen to pure? Are the books they read truly worthy of praise?

That’s why I was so excited when NorthPointe Christian (NPC) made the decision a few years ago to partner with I:55 Book Fairs—a company that curates every book through a Christian lens. Their selections reflect the very heart of Philippians 4:8-9, and as a parent, that gives me both peace of mind and genuine joy.

A Faith-Focused Alternative

I:55 Book Fairs offer a refreshing alternative by placing Christ at the heart of the selection process. I:55 ensures that every book meets faith-based standards, giving families like ours confidence and peace of mind.  Thanks to NorthPointe’s decision to switch to I:55,  I don’t have to worry about filtering through books on the spot—each title has already been carefully chosen with purpose. A great mix of familiar titles, beloved character series, and fun new favorites makes the selection exciting for my kids to pick from!

More Than Just Books

I love that NorthPointe’s partnership with I:55 Book Fairs means my children can select from more than just great classics—they can choose from devotionals, Bibles, and faith-filled resources from Christian authors that help students grow in their walk with Christ. There’s nothing better than seeing my daughter excited to dive into a devotional or explore science through the lens of God’s creation!

A Win for Families and NPC

I’m so grateful to be part of a school community at NorthPointe Christian where faith is integrated into every aspect of education. I love that my kids can still enjoy that classic book fair excitement I remember from my childhood, but with the peace of mind knowing every book is not only fun but also reinforces the values we work so hard to instill in them! It’s a win for families, the school, and especially for our kids, who are building a strong, Christ-centered foundation for the future.

From one parent to another, keep pointing your kids to Jesus. Talk with them about how Scripture connects to the books they’re reading and the shows they’re watching. Help them learn to see the world through the lens of the Gospel.

While my little children are still in elementary school and rely heavily on my husband and me to teach them right from wrong, I’m encouraged that they will continue to experience sound teaching with our strong Bible Department, knowledgeable staff, and Biblically-grounded curriculum through their teenage years and beyond. I’m confident that their time at NPC, partnered with the church, will equip them with the tools and biblical wisdom they need to begin discerning and filtering things on their own.

“But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”
