Teaching Mandates

In all areas of learning, from PreK -12, we seek to carry out our mission: to equip students to impact their world for Christ.  We teach our students facts, figures, and skills so that all are prepared to do well in further academic education or technical training.  We equally carry out our mission by having teachers weave three threads from God's Word through every subject at every level.  We call them mandates because God commands His people to do them.

The Love Mandate: “Love the Lord your God….  Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matt. 22:37-38)

The Mission Mandate: “Go and make disciples…teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:18-20)

The Image Mandate: “Let us make man in our image….  Be fruitful…fill the earth…subdue it…rule over every living creature…" (Gen. 1:26, 28)

Teachers weave these themes into all of learning, interpreting the times, creation, and all of culture through the lens of the Bible. Our teachers lead students to be awe-full at what God does, to discern truth, to separate the good from the guck, to strive for excellence, and to reflect God’s glory back to Him in writing, making videos, drawing, acting, singing, playing both games and music, and more. They learn to love their neighbors in school and out in the community through learning foreign language, service projects, and culture studies. And they learn to be stewards of what God gives them: from time to money, from their abilities to serving people, from leisure to work, from tending wild flowers to tending wheat.
