Statement of Faith
As a Christian educator, I believe that every student is made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26–28) and is uniquely gifted to reflect His character in the world. The Image Mandate reminds me that learning, especially in science, is not just academic but deeply spiritual. Whether we are studying cells, energy, or ecosystems, I want students to see the incredible design behind what we’re learning and recognize their responsibility to care for and steward what God has made. I love helping students connect the content to real life, and ultimately, to the God who created it all with purpose and intention.
The Love Mandate (Matthew 22:37-39) shapes the way I build community in my classroom. I make it a priority to greet each student personally every day, because I want them to feel seen and known. I use group work intentionally so students are consistently interacting and learning to listen to one another, and I make sure everyone has space to speak and contribute during class. These practices help create a culture where students can love their neighbors through their words and actions—learning to show respect, kindness, and curiosity as we learn together.
Lastly, the Mission Mandate (Matthew 28:18-20) challenges me to equip students to live out their faith beyond the classroom. I see each lesson and interaction as a chance to prepare students to be thoughtful, engaged followers of Christ in whatever field they pursue. Whether it’s through discussing real-world bioethical issues and their implications or simply reflecting on how our knowledge can help others, I want students to understand that their learning has a purpose: to serve others, point people to Christ, and join in the work God is doing in the world.
