Faith Statement
The Love Mandate: “Love the Lord your God…..Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matt. 22:37-38). This mandate is so central to the calling of being a Christian school educator. I believe God has called me to fulfill this mandate, most importantly, through leading by example and offering my students love, grace and compassion as well as by encouraging and teaching my students to do the same with one another.
The Mission Mandate: “Go and make disciples….teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:18-20). As a Kindergarten Immersion teacher, I hold the power of language and other cultures in high regard. I want to help equip my students with a similar love and curiosity for those cultures and, most importantly, help foster discipleship in my students to properly advocate and represent a life well-lived with God.
The Image Mandate: “Let us make man in our image…Be fruitful…fill the earth…subdue it…rule over every living creature…” (Gen. 1:26, 28). God has made each one of us in His image and has blessed each one of us with unique gifts and talents. I want to empower my students to use these gifts for the glory of God. I also want to model for my students what it means to embrace the unique gifts of others, loving them, encouraging them, and creating a classroom culture that would be pleasing to God.
