Bio
Lisa earned a bachelors degree in violin performance and music education at the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY. During the fall of her senior year, she met Julian, an engineering student from Belfast, Northern Ireland, while on a study abroad program in Birmingham, England. After post graduate violin studies at Cincinnati Conservatory, she married Julian and they lived and worked in Birmingham for 10 years. After three years working as a traveling string teacher in the Birmingham Schools, she had their first four children and transitioned to teaching private music lessons while Julian worked as an engineer. When they were 7, 5, 3, and 1, they moved to the Grand Rapids area, where they later had three more children.
Statement of Faith
My husband and I both made a commitment to serve Jesus at a church service in Kingstanding Tabernacle several months after we settled in England. When we moved from England to the US, God paved the way for us, as I don’t know how we could have done that in our own strength and circumstances.
One of my favorite Bible verses is Ephesians 5:20: “For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joys of his heart.”
