Statement of Faith

The Love Mandate: “Love the Lord your God, Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matt. 22:37-38). Everyday I try to teach my students the importance of what true love is, that love like the one that Christ showed towards us, and the importance of showing that love to people around us. The most important thing the Lord asks us is the commandment to love, to love the Lord with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself and I will focus on modeling that love day by day. I want my students to walk out of my class at the end of the year with the knowledge, but more importantly, that they know how to live out this mandate of love in their daily lives.

The Mission Mandate: “Go and make disciples…teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:18-20). I want my students to understand that the main purpose of man is to glorify God in all his ways and make disciples and to be able to do it through other languages is amazing. I will work hard to open the eyes of my students to diversity, not only to learn, but so they can begin to see that there is a world out there waiting to hear about Christ. I want my students at the end of the year to understand the great mission that we have, which is to reach a world that still does not know about God.

The Image Mandate: “Let us make man in our image…May they be fruitful…fill the earth…subdue it…rule over every living creature…” (Genesis 1:26, 28). My desire is to teach children that before they come into this world, God had already thought of them and that they were created of their image and likeness in a wonderful way. I want them to know that God made us all special for His purpose. Throughout the school year as we study and learn about the world around us I want my students to see themselves through the eyes that God sees us, with love, kindness and grace.
