Art on Display:
A Reflection from Art Expo
During a week in April, our students had the chance to showcase their creativity and courage during Art Expo. The event featured a wide range of student work—from sculpture and drawing to painting and printmaking—representing a full year of dedication and artistic growth.
For many students, sharing their work publicly can feel intimidating. Art is personal, and allowing others to view it is a vulnerable act.
But it’s also a powerful reminder that, like our art, our lives are on display every day.
Jesus teaches in Matthew 5:13–16 that our good deeds can shine brightly, pointing others to God. Just as each piece of art at the expo was unique and valuable, so are the various ways we can live out our faith through good works.
There’s no single way to glorify God—sometimes it’s through serving, sometimes through encouraging, sometimes through creating. Each act, like each artwork, is meaningful.
So we leave you with two questions to reflect on:
-
Does fear of a negative response keep you from displaying the “art” of your good works?
-
Can you think of a situation where there might be many different ways to do good and reflect Christ?
Let’s be bold in how we live and love—on display for Him.
