We strongly believe in cultivating the God-given creative abilities of our students.  We strive for excellence in fine arts, have established award-winning programs, and have many students receive music and arts scholarships.  Our fine art program begins in Kindergarten with visual arts and general music.  Students are encouraged to participate in band or orchestra beginning in 5th grade.    

Band and Orchestra Achievements

  • Commissioned to perform the world premier of Vanishing Pointe written by Richard Meyer

  • Orchestra and band students have received Division I (excellent) & Division II (good) awards for outstanding performances at district and state competitions for many years.

  • Orchestra, Band, and Choir perform yearly at the state competition

Choir Achievements

  • Compete yearly at the state competition (for the past ten years)

  • Students consistently receive Division II or I ratings for outstanding performances at distric and state competitions

  • Perform at MSVMA Solo & Ensemble Festivals

  • Dayspring Chorale performs in the community, ministers in local churchs and travels on ministry trips to Alaska and Jamaica

Visual Arts Achievements

  • American Vision Award:  Top 5 in state of Michigan

  • Multiple Scholastic gold and silver keys earned over the past 5 years

  • Sooper Yooper Top 15 prizes

  • National Scholastics Gold Medal received in Carnegie Hall, NYC

  • Collaborative projects with professional artists 

Drama Department

NorthPointe puts on a middle school and a high school production each year.  This gives students opportunities to use their creative gifts in drama, stage managing, lighting, sound coordination, set design, stage creation, and hair and make-up.
