Library Media Center -

An electronic catalog system enables students to access over 11,000 volumes. In addition, library skills, CD-ROM books, videos, and complimentary equipment are available for individual or classroom use. Grades 1 through 5 participate in accelerated reader, a program encouraging students to read at and beyond grade level with continued checks on progress through book quizzes. Students earn points that they can cash out for prizes! Students in grades 1-5 can check books out to read at home.

Computer Lab-

All grades utilize the Macintosh computer lab, with Word compatible programs working through an integrated curriculum. All teachers integrate technology instruction as part of their regular class curriculum. Each class visits the computer lab at least once per week.

Music - 

General music offers students a wide variety of musical experiences both vocally and instrumentally. Students perform in two concerts each year - a Christmas program with songs and acting roles & a Spring concert highlighting special songs from all grade levels. Those in early grades attend music twice a week through 4th grade. 5th grade attends once per week since they attend instrumental music classes four times per week in either band or orchestra.

Art Education - 

Art forms of all shapes, sizes, and colors make their way through the doors of our art room. Students learn art forms from different eras and are trained in a variety of techniques.  Classrooms and hallways proudly display our students' creative work. 

Physical Education - 

Students get up & get moving in their gym classes. Our gym teacher gives students the opportunity to engage in different athletic units where they get a chance to learn the rules and participate in many games. They practice different skills, and learn through play.

Spanish - 

Each classroom of 5 Day Kindergarten through 5th grade receive about 90 minutes of Spanish instruction per week to build a foundation for language classes available at the Middle School and High School levels. Click here to read more about Foreign Language at NPC Elementary.
