Welcome to NorthPointe Christian Middle School
TRANSFORMING…INSPIRING…CARING…EXCITING…
BE PATIENT, GOD ISN’T FINISHED WITH ME YET!
NorthPointe Christian Middle School is about understanding adolescents and integrating Christian faith into every aspect of their school day. Adolescence marks a time of transition. Their minds and bodies are rapidly changing, and they are often more emotional than they are reflective. They want to be mature, but feel self-conscious and unprepared to assume grown-up responsibilities. We acknowledge their “adolescence” and continue to build a middle school program that addresses their needs.
We believe that adolescents can make a genuine and meaningful decision to accept Christ. Although ways in which they think and feel about their faith may be different than in an adult faith, there is no doubt that adolescents can make a decision to live a Christ-centered life. The middle school theme this year is, “Made to be Extra Ordinary” based on, Psalm 139:14 which says; “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” It’s not easy for young people to stand their ground in today’s society, but we believe they CAN do it when they are standing upon God’s foundation and are grounded in faith.
Our educational program strives to challenge young people in all academic areas. Their talents, energy, and character will be stretched as they are challenged to begin developing into the Christian young men and women that God has planned for them to become. The middle school encourages self-discipline and responsibility as students travel from class to class, plan and prepare for tests, quizzes, and projects, and develop relationships with teachers and peers. Young people need teachers who are active spiritual role models, who encourage students to use the Bible as the measuring stick for evaluating everything they see and hear. Our middle school staff is committed to leading them through this time of transition, to help them think critically and Biblically about the world around them.
We recognize that young people have a powerful need to belong. Each student in the middle school is assigned to a Small Group led by adult mentors. The goal of Small Group is to help students develop a circle of friends that can help them look more closely at the world, and help them learn to distinguish those things God says are good and right from those things God says are wrong. We accomplish this through devotions, discussions about discernment, and team building activities. NorthPointe Middle School believes in meeting students where they are in life and providing them with a community of friends and staff who share a common faith.
Kids are God’s gift to all of us, and we are God’s gift to kids. We are confident that together, you, your child, our staff, and our Lord, can make this school year rewarding and fulfilling. Together we will make a united effort to prepare your child spiritually, academically, physically, and emotionally for the challenges of life, so that each child can reach his or her full potential to impact their world for Christ.
