Lenin Tamayo

Mr. Tamayo is a native of Ecuador, South America. He graduated from the Central University of Ecuador and is passionate about teaching. He likes sports a lot, he plays soccer, and he likes to run too.

Being a Christian teacher is a privilege and also a double responsibility in the eyes of God.  He has commanded us that everything we do we are to do it for Him and His glory: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord (Colossians 3:23-24).   In addition to the academic training we provide as teachers, we have to instill in our students the values of the kingdom; The principle of everything is “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind….”  Being God our creator, He designed us to live connected to Him, to make Him our priority, and to love Him the way God wants us to, including to live a life away from sin.  With my students, we converse often about the need to fill our hearts and mind with the Word of God and with actions that are good for the Lord.  If you love the Lord, it is impossible not to love your neighbor.  The Bible says that those who love the Lord and do not love their neighbor are deceitful.  My goal for my students is that they love God not just a theory or words; it takes practice day after day by being kind, friendly, and loving fellow students, neighbors, and friends.

Love your neighbor is also a basic part of understanding that we are all the same in front of God as we were designed and created like Him, “Let us make man in our image….be fruitful.  Fill the earth…subdue it…rule over every living creature… (Gen 1:26-28).   The eternal God made us as men and women with the purpose to procreate, be fruitful, and multiply. We need to know that God made only two genders, and it is only possible to procreate between a man and a woman.  In my class, we reaffirm that God is the creator of the family and that each one of us is fruitful within such families.  We are the crown of His creation, but we are also responsible to preserve His design.

“Go and make disciples…” (Matt 28:18-20).    It is imperative for Jesus that we find the truth. We cannot keep it to ourselves; people are in need, hungry and thirsty for the word of God.  We need to share the gospel and give testimony of a transformed life that is important for the believer.  Therefore, it is important that we take that message of salvation to others.  The word of God has the power to change and transform the lives of people and that is the reason it is important to share the gospel.  I share with my students that we need to be accountable for following this commandment.  We have to pray and ask God for the opportunities in our lives to share about our Savior.
