High School Support Services/Student Union
NorthPointe Christian High School is committed to provide Christ-centered education by embracing, equipping, and empowering student who bring various strengths and challenges to our learning community. Inclusion is an intregal part of NPC and an opportunity for us to practice our core belief that every individual is uniquely created by God for His purposes.
Our partnership with the Christian Learning Center (CLC) for comprehensive consulting and psychological services will continue in addition to work with Grand Rapids Public and other local providers. Respected CLC specialists Mary Ashby, Sheryl Rozema, and Doug Bouman return to serve our families.
Student Union space conveniently includes side by side, zoned rooms where the team serves any students in need of tutoring, resource room classes, quiet study space, and alternate site testing, as well as other accommodation services.
Touchpointe Ministry: In the Student Union, our Touchpointe Ministry aims to provide a one-on-one experience that focuses on developing and implementing organizational skills and tools. The program ultimately help students to have assignments turned in on time and to be prepared for tests and projects by looking ahead. Students develop their own goals at the beginning of each quarter, allowing them to take even more ownership while developing these life skills.
Transition Planning: Our goal is to help students have an opportunity to be placed in a professional setting that matches or closely relates to their interests and strengths. We supervise these experiences and work closely with the student and adviser to ensure a positive and effective outcome in helping to further shape each student's ability to impact our world for Jesus Christ.
Student Spotlight: Student Will Gordon, who was a shining light in NorthPointe's Inclusion Program, gave a moving graduation speech to the student body. Watch his heart-warming speech.
NorthPointe's inclusion program was featured in a recent edition of The Advantage newsletter - page 5.
“But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body…" I Cor. 12:18.
