Letter to Families on March 14 Nationwide Walkout
Dear NorthPointe Families:
In response to the recent school shootings in our country, we are aware that this Wednesday, March 14, has been proposed as a walkout day for protest regarding gun violence.
Instead of a walkout, NorthPointe is choosing to use this as a time of prayer for the victims’ families and the community of Parkland, Florida, as well as our government leaders on the national, state, and local levels. I Timothy 2:1-3 directs us: “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior....”
Our goal on Wednesday is for our school family to come together, be unified through prayer, and be reminded that God is present, powerful, and our protector.
Thanks for entrusting your children to us. We count it a privilege to partner with you in “equipping students to impact their world for Jesus Christ.”
