Coronavirus and Our Response

Continued Distance Learning Through Year End

April 02, 2020
By NPC at 11:00 a.m.

Today our Governor announced her plan to close schools through the end of the year.  NorthPointe Christian has been anticipating this possibility and has been preparing accordingly.  NorthPointe Christian's delivery of high quality, biblically integrated academics will continue through the end of the school year in the distance learning format that we have already implemented over the last couple of weeks.   We are committed to moving forward through this COVID-19 crisis by continuing with each grade level curriculum, connecting with students relationally and academically, and keeping Christ central.  Each of our students will be able to complete grade level content and be in a position to move to the next subsequent grade.  Our academic school year will conclude on June 5th - or, in the case of seniors, May 13th - as originally planned.

Our delivery format has changed, but our mission of "equipping students to impact the world for Jesus Christ" has not changed.

Thank you for your continued partnership (and increased hands on involvement) with us as we navigate these unprecedented times.

Blessings!

Cancellation and Viritual Learning Update

March 13, 2020
By NPC at 2:00 p.m.

Dear NPC Family,

Thank you for bearing with us through the ever-changing situation regarding COVID-19.  As the advice and direction from experts and authorities changes daily, we have been monitoring the situation and responding in the best interest of you, our students and families.  We understand the various challenges that these changes present to you, and do not enter into this new arrangement without prayerful consideration. As you are aware, Governor Whitmer has suspended all schools until April 5.  Our Spring Break is scheduled for, and will remain, April 3-12.  Therefore, at this time, we can confidently tell you that no in-person classes will be held until at least April 13.  We have no plans to extend the school year, and are planning to resume live, in-person classes after Spring Break.

We are prepared to continue our learning remotely.  God has blessed us with the capacity (one-to-one technology, a platform like Schoology) to move to a digital format for the vast majority of our learning. While many schools are being forced to pause all learning, we are equipped to continue to progress through the curriculum. We ask for continued patience and grace among us as we navigate this uncharted territory.  Look for lessons to begin Monday, March 16.  Look, too, for online chapel messages to be sent out in the coming weeks.

All sporting events, school activities (including the Auction and Dinner Theater), and all school sponsored trips are suspended indefinitely.  We will let you know if and when these will be rescheduled.

God is in control.  He is not caught off guard by this, and His grace is sufficient for us every day, regardless of the unique circumstances we find ourselves in.

Be blessed and safe.
