“TAP into family, TAP into friends, TAP into your child’s education!”
How would you like to pay for your tuition without spending any money? If so, then look no further than our new Tuition Assistance Program, also known as TAP! Please click on the questions below to be directed to the answer further down on this web page.
Tap, in partnership with Repocast.com, an online auction site, offers families and other donors the opportunity to earn 30% – 50% from the sale of donated items to pay for a student’s tuition. The remaining balance covers expenses and benefits NorthPointe Christian's Tuition Assistance Program. Your item could draw the attention of 400,000 registered bidders. Hundreds of items are sold weekly.
This is a separate fundraising effort from the annual live and silent auction scheduled in the Spring. Thanks to the generosity of Scott Miedema and those at www.repocast.com, NorthPointe Christian is able to collect items from school families or willing donors and sell those online through Repocast’s weekly auction. These efforts help support families and students throughout NorthPointe Christian Schools.
You find items, you choose a level of participation, and when the item sells, you receive the funds directly into your tuition account. It’s that easy!
• Anyone can make a donation to be placed on the online auction.
• If you are a family currently enrolled at NPCS, talk to family, talk to friends, and talk to everyone you know in order to find items for the online auction. Every item sold will help reduce your family’s tuition balance.
• Extended family and friends may also choose to donate item(s) on behalf of an enrolled student.
• Donors can choose to make donations on behalf of a specific student currently enrolled NPCS or can choose the school’s general tuition assistance fund. (Donors may choose to remain anonymous).

Once you identify that you have an item for the online auction, you can choose one of the following options. We offer a variety of delivery and pick up options to make the process as “hassle free” and as “financially beneficial” as you wish.
Level 1: Earn 50% of the sale amount towards your tuition account:
1. Complete the TAP auction submission form
2. Provide a digital photo of the item and email it to TAP (*see note below)
3. Deliver your item and form to Repocast.
• Repocast is located at: 601 Gordon Industrial Ct., Byron Center, MI. 49315
Level 2: Earn 40% of the sale amount towards your tuition account:
1. Complete the TAP auction submission form
2. Provide a digital photo of the item and email it to TAP (*see note below)
3. Deliver your item and form to NorthPointe Christian.
• Please email a TAP Coordinator to schedule a drop-off.
Level 3: Earn 30% toward your tuition account:
1. Contact/email a TAP Coordinator to schedule a pick-up
2. Provide a digital photo of the item and email it to TAP (*see note below)
*NOTE - This step is optional and depends on the availability of a digital camera. If you do not have access to a camera, arrangements can be made with NorthPointe Christian or Repocast.com, but may not provide the best results.
Photography Tip: Have you heard the phrase, "a picture's worth a thousand words?" The better the picture, the more likely a buyer will pause to view the item. Single items should be free of background clutter and brightly lit. Consider arranging bulk items to avoid portraying them jumbled in a box.
Once an item has been delivered, Repocast.com assigns a tracking number and preps the images for the next available TAP acution. TAP auctions occur every Thursday beginning at 8am. Closing times vary, but usually range between 6pm & 8:30pm. Items may be sold individually or in a lot depending on the item(s). Registered bidders (you can sign up for free to be a bidder on www.repocast.com) have the chance to bid on items until 6pm on Thursday evenings. If there is a bidding war between two bidders, the auction will stay open until a winning bidder is confirmed. This allows items to go for their highest possible selling price.
After the item has sold, Repocast.com issues payment to NorthPointe Christian. Upon receipt, the specified percentage is credited to the designated tuition account.
Depending on when the item is delivered, posted on the TAP auction, sold, and payment received at NorthPointe Christian, it could take anywhere from 4 – 8 weeks to appear in your account.
If an item does not sell through the TAP auction, you have the option of picking up the item at Repocast within 10 days of the auction or reliquishing the item to NorthPointe Christian. You will need to follow the status of an item to determine if it sells or not. There are no notifications for when an item goes up for auction. To follow an item's status, you must be a registered bidder. Complete the free registration form online at Repocast.com to become a bidder. Repocast is located at: 601 Gordon Industrial Ct., Byron Center, MI. 49315.
Donations are ALWAYS tax deductible. Families with enrolled students can take the ammount applied to the Tuition Assistance Program as a deduction, but the amount applied to their personal tuition account is not deductible. Extended family and friends can specify a currently enrolled student or the Tuition Assistance Program, for tax purposes, the entire amount is tax deductible. NorthPointe Christian will provide a written statement indicating the amount an item sold for, and the amount that was applied to a tuition account.
Donate once, twice, or hundreds of times. TAP and the Repocast online auction run all year long in order to help families raise additional funds towards their tuition, as well as to provide financial assistance for students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend NorthPointe Christian Schools. Please help NPCS promote this new program to families all around the West Michigan area and beyond!
If you have items that you would like to donate to TAP and need assistance with the process, or you just have some general questions, please feel free to contact one of our TAP Coordinators, Doug Wemple or Nancy Wierenga. You may either email them at tap@npchristian.org or call (616) 485-1886.
